Rema storms Spotify. sets new record on Spotify with his newly released song, Holiday

Rema’s “Holiday” now has the biggest streams by any song in a week. The song tailed 647,304 streaks during the week of February 17 – 23, 2023. The previous record was set by Asake’s “Terminator” (574k streams, Aug 19 – 24, 2022).

In total, Rema’s song Holiday has 38,276,226 monthly listeners.

Rema hits 1 billion Spotify streams

Recall that months back, Kemi Filani reported that Rema, had become the latest Nigerian artist to exceed 1 billion Spotify streams across lead credits.

The Mavins singer, who had a fantastic year in 2022, had achieved 1 billion listens across lead credit on Spotify.

Afrobeats song “Calm Down,” remix, which was influenced by Selena Gomez, is one of the biggest of 2022.

The song is the fastest to reach this milestone, surpassing 300 million views on YouTube in just 10 months with the single.

“Calm Down” had topped one billion streams on all platforms. The song also debuted in the UK Official Singles Top 10 charts.

Rema beats Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel to become artist with the Most Viewed Music Video on YouTube in 2022

To add to his feat, Rema was crowned the artist with the Most Viewed Music Video on YouTube in 2022.

The 22-years-old beat his senior colleagues, Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel and others to win the title.

Rema, whose career saw a huge soar in 2022, took the number one and two spot for most viewed music video on YouTube. His hit songs Calm Down has 313 million views, while the remix featuring Selena Gomez has 204 million views.

Burna Boy’s Last Last came 3rd with 144 million views, followed closely by, Kizz Daniel’s Buga which garnered over 110 million views.
